Choosing a Nursing Home
Depending on the member benefit, Kaiser Permanente does cover intermittent therapy needs identified in the LTC/Custodial Care setting. The therapist in the nursing home will submit orders and therapy evaluations to Nursing Home Services in order to get authorization for this service. While other options are available to you for skilled nursing care, only our premier SNFs can offer this high level of coordination. You can rest easier knowing that our SNFs and your health care team have a shared commitment to your health and well-being and are working together for the best possible outcome.
Availability varies by location and need, but telehealth allows you to talk directly to a nurse or doctor without leaving the comfort and security of your home. You can use this service to refill subscriptions, ask questions, get medical advice, and schedule future appointments. Contractor shall submit invoices for these items or services in accord with this Agreement. Payment by Health Carrier for these excluded items or services will be at Contractor’s cost, which cost must be supported by original invoices. Authorization for items or services not included in the per diem must be obtained in advance from Nursing Home Services SNF Placement Office prior to admission.
